RMA Home Surveyors

If you are looking to purchase a residential property, it may be the biggest investment of your life.

A Survey Report can provide peace of mind that the ‘dream home’ will not turn out to be a nightmare.

RMA can offer a range of Survey and Valuation services to ensure that the property being purchased is both sound, and is not over-priced, and from our York and Pocklington offices we are able to serve North Yorkshire, Hull and the East Yorkshire areas.

The three main Reports are as follows;

1) Valuation

This is a valuation of the property based upon a limited inspection only, and generally this type of inspection is usually done for the benefit of the mortgage lender who refers to its as a 'Mortgage Valuation', and is not actually a 'survey' as such. It is of little use in identifying problems of any significance that may exist.

This provides a more detailed inspection of the property, and also contains a valuation and an insurance reinstatement cost figure. Its aim is to assist the purchaser in assessing whether the property provides reasonable value for money.

3) Building Survey

This examines the property in greater detail, and will give a detailed opinion regarding the state of the building. If you are purchasing an older or substantially altered property this type of survey is recommended. Unless specifically requested as an additional service, it will not provide a valuation of the property.
